Health Canada Study of Shale Gas Development Reveals Air Pollutant Levels Similar or Lower than Average

Health Canada completed a New Brunswick Shale Gas Air Monitoring Study in the Penobsquis area between 2012 – 2015.  The study determined that air pollutants, while minimal, did not reach levels that are of concern to the environment and human health.  No measures to improve air quality were required as levels detected during the study were lower than ambient air quality standards adopted in New Brunswick.
