The New Brunswick Responsible Energy Development Alliance is conducting a letter writing campaign to encourage New Brunswickers who are in support of natural resource development to call for an immediate lifting of the ban on hydraulic fracturing.

After extensive review of other jurisdictions, best industry practice and technical studies, the report by the NB Commission on Hydraulic Fracturing supports the position that natural gas can be undertaken safely and environmentally responsibly, just as it is taking place everyday throughout North America.

A natural gas industry could mean hundreds of millions of dollars to our province and thousands of jobs. It could be a significant factor in helping our economy survive and thrive.

Decision makers need to hear how New Brunswickers feel on this issue. Fifty-two per cent of New Brunswickers support natural gas development. If you are one of them, please share your voice.

Fill out your name, email address and postal code in the letter to the right and press Submit. If you prepare to draft your own letter, you can click here for your MLA’s email address.

As a New Brunswicker who supports responsible natural resource development, I urge the New Brunswick government to lift the moratorium on hydraulic fracturing immediately.

A natural gas industry could mean hundreds of millions of dollars to our province and thousands of jobs. It could be a significant factor in helping our economy survive and thrive. With a moratorium in place, nothing can happen, New Brunswick will remain closed for business.

We need to allow this industry to continue so we may better understand New Brunswick’s natural gas potential, be prepared to seize the opportunity and get New Brunswickers to work.
